Description
The SLATS project
(Safer Landing and Taxiing) underway with support from the
Civil Aviation Authority, aims to build the safety case for the use of
a dual redundant (vision and GPS) system by providing better aircraft localisation,
and so to improve civil aircraft approach, to decrease runway occupancies
and to reduce incidents that damage landing gear.
